Zac Gonzalez

Exercise Physiologist
Zachary-Gonzalez

Zac is extremely passionate about exercise and how it can be used to help improve an individual’s quality of life. He not only enjoys helping his clients grow but also the amazing team he surrounds himself with at our Runaway Bay clinic.

Zac’s passion for movement began early, growing up immersed in all types of sport and physical activity. While unsure of his exact career path at first, he knew he loved exercise and wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This led him to complete a Bachelor of Exercise Science (2018), followed by a Graduate Diploma of Exercise Physiology (2019).

During his university placement at Atkins Health, Zac discovered his true calling. The combination of evidence-based practice, long-term client relationships, and using exercise as medicine resonated deeply with him — and he has never looked back.

Zac is an Exercise Physiologist at our clinic located at the Gold Coast Performance Centre in Runaway Bay, where he sees a broad range of clients. He has a strong passion for working with individuals with osteoporosis, neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic disease, and he prides himself on delivering care that is both personable and results-driven.

Zac is highly regarded for his ability to build genuine, meaningful relationships with clients, families, and external healthcare providers. He believes in treating the person, not just the condition, and supports every individual to achieve their physical, functional, and mental health goals through structured, sustainable exercise.

Alongside his clinical work, Zac plays a key role in facilitating Atkins Health’s Bone Society Program — a supportive, evidence-based group class focused on improving bone density, strength, balance, and confidence. He is also involved in community engagement, GP and specialist relationships, and the development of referral pathways to ensure clients receive coordinated, high-quality care.

Zac is equally passionate about the mental health benefits of physical activity and loves witnessing the confidence, resilience, and joy that exercise brings to the people he works with.

Outside of work, Zac enjoys:

  • Going to the beach
  • Discovering new and old music
  • Chasing every sunrise/sunset he can
  • Running
  • Brazilian Jujitsu
  • Time with family and friends
