Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions about our allied health services, how we support your health goals, and the easiest way to begin your care with our team.

What allied health services does Atkins Health provide?

Atkins Health offers Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Dietetics, Remedial Massage and Personal Training. Our team works together to support people with pain, chronic conditions, mobility issues and long-term health goals.

How do I know which service is right for me?

If you are unsure which discipline you need, our team can guide you. We will look at your goals, medical history and current symptoms and recommend the most appropriate starting point, often combining services where this is clinically beneficial.

Do I need a referral to access your services?

You can book most services directly without a referral. However, Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and some NDIS or insurance-funded programs may require a GP or specialist referral. Our admin team can help you understand what is needed.

Are your services covered by Medicare, DVA, NDIS or private health?

Many of our services can be accessed under Medicare Chronic Disease Management plans, DVA, NDIS, WorkCover and private health insurance, depending on your eligibility and level of cover. We can help you navigate the funding options available to you.

Do you offer group or program-based services as well as one-on-one sessions?

Yes. In addition to individual appointments, we run structured programs such as PD Revolution, Active Alzheimer’s, Bone Society, veterans’ rehabilitation and back pain programs, along with small-group exercise sessions and personal training.

Can different practitioners at Atkins Health work together on my care?

Yes. Our clinicians regularly collaborate across disciplines to provide coordinated care. For example, a physiotherapist may work alongside an Exercise Physiologist and Dietitian to support more complex conditions and long-term health outcomes.
