Matthew Ternes

General Manager and Exercise Physiologist
Matthew Ternes

Matt actively sees clients as well as leading the squad at Atkins Health as our General Manager. He invests much time in spreading knowledge on the benefits of exercise in conjunction with specific conditions through presentations, including but not limited to school groups, through community events and programs for international sporting teams.

With a goal of helping as many people as possible to improve their health, Matt pioneered exercise for Parkinson’s Disease sufferers on the Gold Coast as well as group exercise with the launch of ‘PD Revolution’, a group which has since competed in three Gold Coast marathons.

He finds the greatest job satisfaction in making a meaningful difference to his clients’ everyday lives in regaining function and movement, including successfully helping wheelchair bound patients to regain their walking ability through persistence and time.

As someone who practices an active lifestyle, Matt enjoys tennis, mountain bike riding and running, having completed three full marathons on the Gold Coast.

Matt is a Parkinson’s Disease Warrior licenced instructor and has completed extensive specialist training and gained extensive experience across a diverse variety of areas from neurological to chronic pain, weight management and diabetes through to athletic performance and more.
